Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical looping combustion of coal in a 5 kWth interconnected fluidized bed reactor using hematite as oxygen carrier
Jinchen Ma,Haibo Zhao,Xin Tian,Yijie Wei,Sharmen Rajendran,Yongliang Zhang,Sankar Bhattacharya,Chuguang Zheng +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a hematite was used as oxygen carrier for in-situ gasification chemical looping combustion (iG-CLC) of Chinese bituminous coal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of natural copper ore as oxygen carrier in chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling of anthracite
TL;DR: In this article, a batch fluidized-bed reactor was used for chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling (CLOU) in a Chinese anthracite (GaoPing coal) as fuel.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of tailor-made oxygen carriers and reactors for chemical looping processes at Huazhong University of Science & Technology
TL;DR: In this article, the development of tailor-made oxygen carriers and active design of reactors at Huazhong University of Science & Technology is comprehensively reviewed and appraised, including the screening and optimization of oxygen carriers, reduction kinetics of oxygen carrier with gaseous fuels, microcosmic level understanding of the reaction mechanism in chemical looping via density functional theory (DFT) calculation, rational design and controllable synthesis of a hierarchically-structured oxygen carrier, and negative effects of pollutants (like sulfur and chlorides) on oxygen carriers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Copper-Decorated Hematite as an Oxygen Carrier for in Situ Gasification Chemical Looping Combustion of Coal
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of 6% Cu loading in the hematite, reaction temperature, supply oxygen coefficient, and coal type on the CLC performance of coal were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical looping gasification of biomass: Part I. screening Cu-Fe metal oxides as oxygen carrier and optimizing experimental conditions
TL;DR: In this article, a two-part series work, where synthetic OCs of bimetallic Cu-Fe oxides prepared by the sol-gel combustion synthesis (SGCS) method were proposed for the biomass-derived CLG process were first investigated in a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA).
