Genome-wide association analysis of thirty one production, health, reproduction and body conformation traits in contemporary U.S. Holstein cows

TL;DR: A genome-wide analysis of predicted transmitting ability (PTA) of 31 production, health, reproduction and body conformation traits in contemporary Holstein cows provides useful information for annotating phenotypic effects on the dairy genome and for building consensus of dairy QTL effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genome-wide association analysis of total cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels using the Framingham heart study data.

TL;DR: Genome-wide association analysis of the FHS data detected two new gene regions with genome-wide significance, detected epistatic SNP effects on TC and HDL-C with the significance of suggestive linkage in seven pairs of gene regions, and confirmed some previously reported gene regions associated with TC and LDL-C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of sample stratification on dairy GWAS results

TL;DR: Genetic selection and extensive use of artificial insemination contributed to overlapped genome, pedigree and phenotype stratifications and methods for stratification correction could have removed some true effects associated with genetic selection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multi-locus Test Conditional on Confirmed Effects Leads to Increased Power in Genome-wide Association Studies

TL;DR: A multi-locus association test (MLT) was proposed for GWAS analysis conditional on SNPs with confirmed effects to improve statistical power and showed that the MLT method had increased statistical power over SLT.
