Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of mcr-10 carried by self-transmissible plasmids and chromosome in Enterobacter roggenkampii strains isolated from hospital sewage water.

TL;DR: This study highlights that continuous monitoring of mcr genes in hospital sewage water is imperative for understanding and tackling the dissemination and evaluated the occurrence of a recent reported mcr variant, mcr-10, in hospital wastewater.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of a new tet(X6)-encoding plasmid in Acinetobacter towneri.

TL;DR: In this article, a tet(X6)-carrying plasmid detected in a livestock-associated Acinetobacter towneri isolate was analyzed by whole-genome sequencing, and site-directed mutagenesis was performed to identify the role of 23-Ala residue of tet(x6) in tigecycline resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dissemination of a 'rare' extended-spectrum β-lactamase gene blaSFO-1 mediated by epidemic clones of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacter hormaechei in China.

TL;DR: The study revealed that the blaSFO-1 gene is not as rare as previously found, and the epidemic clones of CREC are responsible for its dissemination in China, highlighting the potential of wide dissemination of low-occurrence antibiotic resistance genes.
Journal ArticleDOI

High prevalence of a globally disseminated hypervirulent clone, Staphylococcus aureus CC121, with reduced vancomycin susceptibility in community settings in China

TL;DR: This is the first report of CC121 as a prevalent hVISA/VISA clone in community settings, highlighting the necessity of surveillance and stricter infection control measures for this globally disseminated lineage.
