Journal ArticleDOI
A rice bZIP transcription factor, OsbZIP16, regulates abiotic stress tolerance when over-expressed in Arabidopsis
Agni Shekhar Pandey,Eshan Sharma,Nitin Jain,Brinderjit Singh,Naini Burman,Jitendra P. Khurana +5 more
TL;DR: OsbZIP16 regulates abiotic stress responses and is a good candidate gene that can be utilised to impart tolerance in plants under water deficit conditions and is functionally characterized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid blue-light-induced phosphorylation of plasma-membrane-associated proteins in wheat
TL;DR: The presence of blue- light-responsive phosphopolypeptides in both the coleoptile sheath and the leaf encased inside, and the kinetics of induction of this response indicate that the phosphorylation of plasma membrane proteins may be one of the early steps in blue-light-elicited signal transduction chain, associated not only with phototropism but perhaps also with low-fluence blue responses in general.
Journal ArticleDOI
Draft Genome Sequence of Sphingobium chinhatense Strain IP26T, Isolated from a Hexachlorocyclohexane Dumpsite
TL;DR: Sphingobium chinhatense strain IP26T is a conducive hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) degrader isolated from a heavily contaminated HCH dumpsite and degrades α-, β-, γ-, and δ-HCH, which are highly persistent in the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of 3',5'-cyclic AMP in axenic cultures of Lemna paucicostata by high-performance liquid chromatography.
TL;DR: In this partially purified sample, a compound has been identified, using a highly sensitive HPLC-fluorometric detection method, with chromatographic properties and substrate specificity for cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase similar to authentic 3',5'-cyclic AMP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bacteriophytochrome controls carotenoid-independent response to photodynamic stress in a non-photosynthetic rhizobacterium, Azospirillum brasilense Sp7
Santosh Kumar,Suneel Kateriya,Vijay Shankar Singh,Meenakshi Tanwar,Shweta Agarwal,Hina Singh,Jitendra P. Khurana,Devinder Vijay Amla,Anil Kumar Tripathi +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that AbBphP1 is a photochromic bacteriophytochrome and is involved in inducing a cellular response that enables A. brasilense in regenerating proteins that might be damaged due to photodynamic stress.
