A Unified View of Causal and Non-causal Feature Selection

TL;DR: This article first shows that causal and non-causal feature selection methods share the same objective, to find the Markov blanket of a class attribute, the theoretically optimal feature set for classification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined Feature Selection and Cancer Prognosis Using Support Vector Machine Regression

TL;DR: This paper extends L1-L2 SVM for regression analysis with automatic feature selection and designs an efficient solution to the new optimization problem of prognostic prediction by utilizing the information of censored data as constraints.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inferring and analyzing module-specific lncRNA-mRNA causal regulatory networks in human cancer.

TL;DR: A novel method is proposed, MSLCRN, to infer and analyze module-specific lncRNA-mRNA causal regulatory networks and is applied into glioblastoma multiforme, lung squamous cell carcinoma, ovarian cancer and prostate cancer, respectively.
Book ChapterDOI

Mining Optimal Class Association Rule Set

TL;DR: This work presents an efficient algorithm for mining the optimal class association rule set using an upward closure property of pruning weak rules before they are actually generated, and its proposed criterion has been shown very effective for pruned weak rules in dense databases.
