Journal ArticleDOI

Sex Distribution of Paper Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) in the Pacific.

TL;DR: Most paper mulberry plants now present in the Pacific appear to be descended from female clones introduced prehistorically, with the presence of male and female plants in Near and Remote Oceania thought to reflect a dual origin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human mediated translocation of Pacific paper mulberry [Broussonetia papyrifera (L.) L'Hér. ex Vent. (Moraceae)]: Genetic evidence of dispersal routes in Remote Oceania.

TL;DR: This is the first study of a commensal species to show genetic structuring within Remote Oceania, and in spite of the genetic bottleneck, the presence of only one sex, a timespan of less than 5000 years, and asexual propagation of this crop in Remote OCEania, the genetic diversity and regional structuring are detected.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ubiquitin receptor PSMD4/Rpn10 is a novel therapeutic target in multiple myeloma.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated Rpn10 and found that it is highly expressed in multiple myeloma (MM) cells versus normal plasma cells, and they developed an in vitro AlphaScreen binding assay for high-throughput screening and identified a novel proteasome inhibitor, SB699551 (SB), treating MM cell lines, leukemic cell lines and primary MM patient cells with SB decreased cell viability without affecting the viability of normal PBMCs.
Journal ArticleDOI

O-antigen chain-length distribution in Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis is regulated by oxygen availability.

TL;DR: Biochemical and genetics analyses indicate that this process is regulated by transcriptional factors Fnr and ArcA by means of controlling the transcription of genes encoding WzzSE and WzzfepE in response to oxygen availability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correction: Sex Distribution of Paper Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) in the Pacific.

TL;DR: This research presents a novel probabilistic procedure that allows for direct measurement of the response of the immune system to earthquake-triggered landsliding.
