Docetaxel Induced Gene Expression Patterns in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Using cDNA Microarray and PowerBlot
George H. Yoo,Marie P. Piechocki,John F. Ensley,Tam Nguyen,Jeffery Oliver,Hong Meng,Danny Kewson,Terry Y. Shibuya,Fulvio Lonardo,Michael A. Tainsky +9 more
TL;DR: The identification of altered gene expression induced by docetaxel demonstrates additional biological activity in HNSCC cells, and the altered expression of these genes may serve as potential biomarkers to both predict clinical activity and provide information regarding potential efficacy of adding novel agents.
Journal Article
Platinum analogs in recurrent and advanced head and neck cancer: a Southwest Oncology Group and Wayne State University Study.
Muhyi Al-Sarraf,Metch B,Julie A. Kish,John F. Ensley,John J. Rinehart,David E. Schuller,Charles A. Coltman +6 more
TL;DR: A clinical trial of carboplatin (CBDCA) and iproplatin (CHIP) in patients with recurrent head and neck cancer was carried out and it was concluded that further evaluation of these agents with other active drug(s) with less of such toxicity is warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
A phase 2 trial of surgery with perioperative INGN 201 (Ad5CMV-p53) gene therapy followed by chemoradiotherapy for advanced, resectable squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity, oropharynx, hypopharynx, and larynx: report of the Southwest Oncology Group.
George H. Yoo,James J. Moon,Michael LeBlanc,Fulvio Lonardo,Susan G. Urba,Harold Kim,Ehab Y. Hanna,Terry Tsue,Joseph Valentino,John F. Ensley,Gregory T. Wolf +10 more
TL;DR: This trial demonstrated the feasibility of handling and delivering a very complex gene vector safely in multiple cooperative group institutions without significant incident and disease control seems to be promising.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-CD3/anti-CD28 bead stimulation overcomes CD3 unresponsiveness in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Terry Y. Shibuya,Wei Zen Wei,Michelle Zormeier,John F. Ensley,Wael Sakr,Robert H. Mathog,Robert J. Meleca,George H. Yoo,Carl H. June,Bruce L. Levine,Lawrence G. Lum +10 more
TL;DR: A subpopulation of patients with HNSCC who are nonresponders to alphaCD3 stimulation has been identified, showing reduced proliferation and IL-12 and IFN-gamma secretion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemotherapy for paranasal sinus carcinoma. A 10‐year experience at Wayne state university
Patricia LoRusso,Efstathios Tapazoglou,Julie A. Kish,John F. Ensley,Glenn Cummings,J K Kelly,Muhyi Al-Sarraf +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that patients with paranasal cancers are responsive to CDDP‐containing combinations and the role of adjuvant chemotherapy in previously untreated, locally advanced patients needs to be demonstrated by future randomized trials.
