Journal ArticleDOI

Above- and below-ground interactions in a leucaena/millet alley cropping system. II. Light interception and dry matter production☆

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the light capture and utilisation efficiency of leucaena and pearl millet in an alley cropping system in a semi-arid area of India.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Planting Density on Water Use and Productivity of Pearl Millet ( Pennisetum Typhoides ) Grown on Stored Water. II. Water Use, Light Interception and Dry Matter Production

TL;DR: In this paper, water extraction based on neutron probe readings was compared with crop transpiration using a porometer and allied measurements, and the water use/g dry wt. produced was similar for both narrow and medium spacings but water was used more efficiently in the wide spacing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theory and performance of a dynamic diffusion porometer

TL;DR: In this article, diffusion theory is applied to a porometer cup to predict how fast the amount of vapour in the cup should increase when one end is covered by a porous surface such as a leaf with specified diffusion resistance.
