Journal ArticleDOI
Free radicals, antioxidants, and human disease: where are we now?
Journal ArticleDOI
The antioxidants of human extracellular fluids.
TL;DR: The antioxidants in the aqueous phase of human plasma include ceruloplasmin, albumin (the protein itself and possibly also albumin-bound bilirubin), ascorbic acid, transferrin, haptoglobin, and hemopexin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methylene blue plus light mediates 8-hydroxy 2'-deoxyguanosine formation in DNA preferentially over strand breakage
TL;DR: The results presented here show that treatment of supercoiled plasmid DNA with methylene blue plus light causes single-stranded nicks, however, single-Stranded nicking occurs approximately 17-fold less frequently than does formation of 8-hydroxyguanine.
