Journal ArticleDOI

Perfluorooctanesulfonate and related fluorinated hydrocarbons in mink and river otters from the United States.

TL;DR: There were no age- or sex-related differences in the concentrations of fluorochemicals in mink livers, and greater concentrations are associated with those individuals collected near urbanized and/or industrialized areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Responses of the medaka HPG axis PCR array and reproduction to prochloraz and ketoconazole.

TL;DR: Effects of two model imidazole-type fungicides, prochloraz (PCZ) and ketoconazole (KTC), on the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis of the Japanese medaka were examined by use of real time PCR (RT-PCR) array.

The OECD validation program of the H295R steroidogenesis assay. Phase 3: Final Inter-Laboratory Validation Study. Environ Sci Pol Res

TL;DR: The H295R steroidogenesis assay protocol successfully identified the majority of chemicals with known and unknown modes of interaction as inducers or inhibitors of T and E2 production, and can be considered a reliable screen for chemicals that can alter the production of sex steroid hormones.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exposure and Multiple Lines of Evidence Assessment of Risk for PCBs Found in the Diets of Passerine Birds at the Kalamazoo River Superfund Site, Michigan

TL;DR: Dietary exposures of passerine birds at the Kalamazoo River, Michigan, were examined due to the presence of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the terrestrial and aquatic food webs, and measures of risk based on comparison to toxicity reference values were consistent with direct measures of ecologically relevant endpoints of reproductive fitness.
Book ChapterDOI

Chapter 62 – Polychlorinated biphenyls, polybrominated biphenyls, polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins, and polychlorinated dibenzofurans

TL;DR: This chapter was originally published in the book Veterinary Toxicology and the attached copy is provided by Elsevier for the author's benefit and for the benefit of the author’s institution.
