Journal ArticleDOI
Green synthesis of titanium dioxide nanoparticles using Psidium guajava extract and its antibacterial and antioxidant properties.
Thirunavukkarasu Santhoshkumar,Abdul Abdul Rahuman,Chidambaram Jayaseelan,Govindasamy Rajakumar,Sampath Marimuthu,Arivarasan Vishnu Kirthi,Kanayairam Velayutham,John Thomas,Jayachandran Venkatesan,Se-Kwon Kim +9 more
TL;DR: Green synthesized TiO2 NPs provides a promising approach can satisfy the requirement of large-scale industrial production bearing the advantage of low-cost, eco-friendly and reproducible.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oral delivery of DNA construct using chitosan nanoparticles to protect the shrimp from white spot syndrome virus (WSSV)
S. Rajeshkumar,C. Venkatesan,M. Sarathi,V. Sarathbabu,John Thomas,K. Anver Basha,A.S. Sahul Hameed +6 more
TL;DR: The present study measured the changes in the level of important immunological parameters such as prophenoloxidase, superoxide dismutase and superoxide anion in hemolymph of chitosan-encapsulated VP28 DNA-treated and controls shrimp and correlated the changes with the survival percentage and protective efficacy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment on interactive prospectives of nanoplastics with plasma proteins and the toxicological impacts of virgin, coronated and environmentally released-nanoplastics.
Ponnusamy Manogaran Gopinath,Vinayagam Saranya,Shanmugam Vijayakumar,Mohan Mythili Meera,Sharma Ruprekha,Reshamwala Kunal,Agarwal Pranay,John Thomas,Amitava Mukherjee,Natarajan Chandrasekaran +9 more
TL;DR: The present study provides evidences on the toxicological prospectives of virgin, coronated- and isolated-NPs on human blood cells and Allium cepa root tip, respectively and highlights the urgent need of scrutinization and regulation of NPs use in medical applications and pre-requisition of additional studies for assessing the bio-accumulation and bio-magnification of N Ps.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathogenecity of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Oreochromis mossambicus and treatment using lime oil nanoemulsion.
John Thomas,S. Thanigaivel,S. Vijayakumar,Kuntal Acharya,Dhairyasheel Shinge,T. Samuel Jeba Seelan,Amitava Mukherjee,Natarajan Chandrasekaran +7 more
TL;DR: Results showed that the lime nanoemulsion was effective against the P. aeruginosa infection in O. mossambicus both in vitro and in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oral administration of antiviral plant extract of Cynodon dactylon on a large scale production against White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) in Penaeus monodon
TL;DR: The plant extract of C. dactylon was found to be highly effective in preventing WSSV infection with no mortality and no signs of WSD at 2% and 40% mortality at 1% in black tiger shrimp P. monodon, respectively.
