Chemical analyses of organic residues in archaeological pottery from Arbon Bleiche 3, Switzerland – evidence for dairying in the late Neolithic

TL;DR: The overall fatty acid composition and the stable carbon isotopic compositions of palmitic, stearic and oleic acids of the organic residues indicate that the studied Arbon Bleiche 3 sherds contain fat residues of plant and animal origin, most likely ruminant (bovine and ovine).
Journal ArticleDOI

The application of NMR and MS methods for detection of adulteration of wine, fruit juices, and olive oil. A review.

TL;DR: This review covers two important techniques, high resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, used to characterize food products and detect possible adulteration of wine, fruit juices, and olive oil, all important products of the Mediterranean Basin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Highly Dynamic Cellular-Level Response of Symbiotic Coral to a Sudden Increase in Environmental Nitrogen

TL;DR: How nitrogen-limited symbiotic corals take advantage of sudden changes in nitrogen availability is shown, which opens new perspectives for functional studies of nutrient storage and remobilization in microbial symbioses in changing reef environments.
