Echocardiographic reference ranges for normal cardiac chamber size: results from the NORRE study
Seisyou Kou,Luis Caballero,Raluca Elena Dulgheru,Damien Voilliot,Carla de Sousa,George Kacharava,George Athanassopoulos,Daniele Barone,Monica Baroni,Nuno Cardim,José Juan Gómez de Diego,Andreas Hagendorff,Christine Henri,Krasimira Hristova,Teresa López,Julien Magne,Gonzalo de la Morena,Bogdan A. Popescu,Martin Penicka,Tolga Ozyigit,Jose David Rodrigo Carbonero,Alessandro Salustri,Nico Van de Veire,Ralph Stephan von Bardeleben,Dragos Vinereanu,Jens-Uwe Voigt,José Luis Zamorano,Erwan Donal,Roberto M. Lang,Luigi P. Badano,Patrizio Lancellotti +30 more
TL;DR: Normal reference ranges for cardiac chambers size obtained in a large group of healthy volunteers accounting for gender and age highlight the need for body size normalization that should be performed together with age-and gender-specific assessment for the most echocardiographic parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Echocardiographic reference ranges for normal cardiac Doppler data: results from the NORRE Study
Luis Caballero,Seisyou Kou,Raluca Elena Dulgheru,Natalia Gonjilashvili,George Athanassopoulos,Daniele Barone,Monica Baroni,Nuno Cardim,José Juan Gómez de Diego,María J. Oliva,Andreas Hagendorff,Krasimira Hristova,Teresa López,Julien Magne,Christophe Martinez,Gonzalo de la Morena,Bogdan A. Popescu,Martin Penicka,Tolga Ozyigit,Jose David Rodrigo Carbonero,Alessandro Salustri,Nico Van de Veire,Ralph Stephan von Bardeleben,Dragos Vinereanu,Jens-Uwe Voigt,José Luis Zamorano,Anne Bernard,Erwan Donal,Roberto M. Lang,Luigi P. Badano,Patrizio Lancellotti +30 more
TL;DR: The NORRE study provides the reference values for the most useful Doppler parameters in the evaluation of heart physiology and highlights the need of using age-specific reference values especially for the diagnosis of LV systolic and diastolic dysfunction and for the estimation of LV filling pressures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Normal Reference Ranges for Echocardiography: rationale, study design, and methodology (NORRE Study).
Patrizio Lancellotti,Luigi P. Badano,Roberto M. Lang,Natela Akhaladze,George Athanassopoulos,Daniele Barone,Monica Baroni,Nuno Cardim,José Juan Gómez de Diego,Geneviève Derumeaux,Raluca Elena Dulgheru,Thor Edvardsen,Maurizio Galderisi,Alexandra Gonçalves,Gilbert Habib,Andreas Hagendorff,Krasimira Hristova,Seisyou Kou,Teresa López,Julien Magne,Gonzalo de la Morena,Bogdan A. Popescu,Martin Penicka,Tolga Rasit,Jose David Rodrigo Carbonero,Alessandro Salustri,Nico Van de Veire,Ralph Stephan von Bardeleben,Dragos Vinereanu,Jens-Uwe Voigt,Damien Voilliot,J. Zamorano,Erwan Donal,Gerald Maurer +33 more
TL;DR: After completion of the NORRE Study, uniform reference limits according to age, gender, and anthropometric parameters will be available to standardize the quantitative interpretation of echocardiography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Utility of real-time three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography in evaluating the success of percutaneous transcatheter closure of mitral paravalvular leaks.
Miguel A. García-Fernández,Marcelino Cortés,Jose Antonio Garcia-Robles,José Juan Gómez de Diego,Esther Pérez-David,Eulogio García +5 more
TL;DR: 3DTEE can improve understanding of the causes underlying failure of these techniques to reduce regurgitation secondary to a defect, and improve patient selection and procedure results, but further studies are needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proximal isovelocity surface area by single-beat three-dimensional color Doppler echocardiography applied for tricuspid regurgitation quantification.
Jose Alberto de Agustin,Dafne Viliani,Catarina Vieira,Fabián Islas,Pedro Marcos-Alberca,José Juan Gómez de Diego,Iván J. Núñez-Gil,Carlos Almería,José Luis Rodrigo,María Luaces,Miguel A. García-Fernández,Carlos Macaya,Leopoldo Pérez de Isla +12 more
TL;DR: TR quantification using PISA by single-beat real-time 3D color Doppler echocardiography is feasible in the clinical setting and more accurate than the conventional 2D PISA method.
