Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of genetic relationships among Pyrus species and cultivars using AFLP and RAPD markers
TL;DR: Both molecular marker techniques proved their reliability to assess genetic relationships among pear cultivars, indicating to constitute a relatively independent genetic pool, which can be of interest in pear breeding programs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Suitability of isozyme, RAPD and AFLP markers to assess genetic differences and relatedness among fig (Ficus carica L.) clones
TL;DR: Eleven of the most promising Sarilop clones and one clone of Sarizeybek, all selected from a former agronomic evaluation, were analysed by three molecular marker techniques, isozymes, RAPDs and AFLPs and the resolution power and the accuracy of these three analytical techniques, in distinguishing among fig clones were determined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparing RAPD and AFLPTM analysis in discrimination and estimation of genetic similarities among apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) cultivars
TL;DR: The relationships among the forty-one studied cultivars were basically consistent with the known lineage and geographic origins of the cultivars, and apparently they constitute an independent genetic pool, which could be of interest for apple plant breeders.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in metabolism of inorganic polyphosphate in rat tissues and human cells during development and apoptosis
Bernd Lorenz,Jessica Münkner,Marco P. Oliveira,Anne Kuusksalu,José Leitão,Werner E.G. Müller,Heinz C. Schröder +6 more
TL;DR: Age-dependent studies show that the amount of inorganic polyphosphate in rat brain strongly increases after birth and decreases after birth, while in rat liver, the age-dependent changes are less pronounced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping of a locus for adult plant resistance to downy mildew in broccoli (Brassica oleracea convar. italica).
TL;DR: Using bulked segregant analysis, a group of molecular markers flanking and closely linked in coupling to the Pp523 resistance gene are identified and included in the map, which places this map among the densest published to date for this species.
