Accurate simulation of delamination growth under mixed-mode loading using cohesive elements: Definition of interlaminar strengths and elastic stiffness

TL;DR: In this paper, a methodology for predicting accurately the propagation of delamination under mixed-mode fracture with cohesive elements is proposed, where relations between the interlaminar strengths and the penalty stiffness are proposed which ensure a correct energy dissipation when delamination propagates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simulation of delamination in composites under high-cycle fatigue

TL;DR: In this article, a damage model for the simulation of delamination propagation under high-cycle fatigue loading is proposed, based on a cohesive law that links fracture and damage mechanics to establish the evolution of the damage variable in terms of the crack growth rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Determination of the critical size of a statistical representative volume element (SRVE) for carbon reinforced polymers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors established the minimum size of a statistical volume element for a typical carbon fiber reinforced polymer and showed that it is δ = L/R = 50 (L the side of the element and R the fibre radius).
Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatitis B immunoglobulin discontinuation followed by hepatitis B virus vaccination: A new strategy in the prophylaxis of hepatitis B virus recurrence after liver transplantation.

TL;DR: The data suggest that in selected liver transplant recipients, posttransplantation HBV vaccination may be a useful and cost‐effective strategy in the prophylaxis of HBV recurrence, allowing the discontinuation of life‐long HBIG treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Incidence of Human Parvovirus B19 Infection during Pregnancy and Its Impact on Perinatal Outcome

TL;DR: Evidence is provided that although acute parvovirus infection may occur relatively commonly during pregnancy, an adverse fetal outcome is a rare complication.
