Recommendations and guidelines for applied nutrition experiments in rabbits.
J. Fernández-Carmona,Enrique Blas,Juan José Pascual,Luc Maertens,Thierry Gidenne,Gerolamo Xiccato,García +6 more
TL;DR: The aim of this paper was to draw up a set of recommendations for applied nutrition and feeding trials with rabbits, in relation to certain aspects such as determining the nutritive value of raw materials or diets in growing or reproducing animals, studying digestive physiology and obtaining growth and reproduction parameters.

Diseño y análisis de la potencia: n y los intervalos de confianza de las medias
José Fernando Garcia,Juan José Pascual,María Dolores Frías,Dirk Van Krunckelsven,Sergio Murgui +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the validity of the conventional 80% power The minimal sample size and power needed to guarantee nonoverlapping (1 - α)% confidence intervals for population means were calculated Several simulations indicate that the minimal power for two means (m= 2) to have non overlapping CIs is 80, for (1 − α) set to 95% The minimal power becomes 86 for 99% CI and 75 for 90% CIs when multiple means are considered, the required minimal power increases considerably This increase is even higher when the population means do

Effect of high fat diets on the performance, milk yield and milk composition of multiparous rabbit does
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of high fat diets on the performance and milk yield of multiparous rabbit does in two high productivity situations: housed in hot conditions (minimum temperature above 24°C) with eight pups (group H8), or housed in warm conditions (minimally temperature under 21 °C), with 11 pups(group W11).
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of chemical composition, nutritive value and ingredient composition of European compound feeds for rabbits by near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS)
Gerolamo Xiccato,Angela Trocino,J.L. De Boever,Luc Maertens,R. Carabaño,Juan José Pascual,J.M. Perez,Thierry Gidenne,Luisa Falcão-e-Cunha +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used NIRS to predict chemical constituents, digestibility and energy value of 164 experimental compound feeds for rabbits using harmonised methods in six European institutes, and the prediction was satisfactory for the following characteristics: dry matter (coefficient of determination in validation, R v 2 =0.70; standard error of prediction, SEP=4.93; SEP =4.026).
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of high fat diets on the performance and food intake of primiparous and multiparous rabbit does
TL;DR: The influence of high fat diets on several production traits of primiparous and multiparous rabbit does was studied in 246 lactations from a total of 61 crossbreed rabbit does.
