Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular cloning of cDNA from foot-and-mouth disease virus C1-Santa Pau (C-S8). Sequence of protein-VP1-coding segment.

TL;DR: Comparison of the nucleotide sequence divergence with those from FMDV O1K, A(10)61, A12 and C3 Indaial indicates extensive variability between the corresponding gene segments, including short insertions and deletions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of genetic variability and mapping of point mutations in influenza virus by the RNase A mismatch cleavage method.

TL;DR: The RNase A mismatch cleavage method should have wide applications in the study of RNA viruses, not only for epidemiological analysis but also in some diagnostic problems, such as characterization of phenotypic mutants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lung histopathological findings in fatal pandemic influenza A (H1N1)

TL;DR: Lung tissue from patients with pandemic influenza A (H1N1) viral pneumonia shows histological findings consistent with DAD, and signs of oxygen radical generation, increased NOS2 protein and protein nitration in lung tissue samples, regardless of the duration of ICU admission.
Book ChapterDOI

Replication of orthomyxoviruses.

TL;DR: This chapter discusses the results of recent studies on orthomyxovirus replication without attempting to be comprehensive and discusses various transcription and replication: structure and regulation of ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complex, such as structural studies of RNP; structure of promoter; and mechanistic studies of polymerase complex.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Cellular Factor NXP2/MORC3 Is a Positive Regulator of Influenza Virus Multiplication

TL;DR: The role of the human NXP2/MORC3 protein, a member of the Microrchidia family that is associated with the nuclear matrix, is characterized and it is proposed that NXP3 plays a role in influenza virus transcription.
