Experimental Study of Biomass Pyrolysis Based on Three Major Components: Hemicellulose, Cellulose, and Lignin
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of temperature on pyrolysis products (char, non-condensable gas, and bio-oil) was investigated, and the results showed that cellulose is the principal source of carbohydrates and phenols are the basis of the biooil from lignin, while the bio oil from xylan mainly consists of acids, ketones, aldehydes, esters, benzenes, alcohols, alkenes, phenols, alkanels, etc.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical-Looping Combustion of Biomass in a 10 kWth Reactor with Iron Oxide As an Oxygen Carrier
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the fuel reactor temperature on gas composition of a 10 kWth reactor with iron oxide as an oxygen carrier was experimentally investigated with a total 30 h of test was achieved with the same batch of iron oxide oxygen carrier.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simulation of hydrogen production from biomass gasification in interconnected fluidized beds
Laihong Shen,Yang Gao,Jun Xiao +2 more
TL;DR: In this article, a cyclone-like fluidized bed was designed for combustion fed with air, and a bubbling fluidised bed for biomass gasification fed with steam, and the results indicated that both a high hydrogen content and a relatively great hydrogen yield are obtained from biomass gasifiers in interconnected fluidized beds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experiments on chemical looping combustion of coal with a NiO based oxygen carrier
Laihong Shen,Jiahua Wu,Jun Xiao +2 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a chemical looping combustion process for coal using interconnected fluidized beds with inherent separation of CO 2 is proposed, where the configuration comprises a high velocity fluidized bed as an air reactor, a cyclone, and a spout-fluid bed as a fuel reactor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical Looping Combustion of Biomass/Coal with Natural Iron Ore as Oxygen Carrier in a Continuous Reactor
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of temperature on gas composition of both the fuel reactor and the air reactor, conversion efficiency of carbonaceous gases, carbon capture efficiency, and oxide oxygen fraction was investigated.
