Journal ArticleDOI
Kidney disease is associated with in-hospital death of patients with COVID-19.
Yichun Cheng,Ran Luo,Kun Wang,Meng Zhang,Zhixiang Wang,Lei Dong,Junhua Li,Ying Yao,Shuwang Ge,Gang Xu +9 more
TL;DR: The findings show the prevalence of kidney disease on admission and the development of AKI during hospitalization in patients with COVID-19 is high and is associated with in-hospital mortality, and clinicians should increase their awareness of kidney patients with severe CO VID-19.

Kidney impairment is associated with in-hospital death of COVID-19 patients
Yichun Cheng,Ran Luo,Kun Wang,Meng Zhang,Zhixiang Wang,Lei Dong,Junhua Li,Ying Yao,Shuwang Ge,Gang Xu +9 more
TL;DR: The prevalence of kidney impairment (hematuria, proteinuria and kidney dysfunction) in hospitalized COVID-19 patients was high and after adjustment for confounders, kidney impairment indicators were associated with higher risk of in-hospital death.
Journal ArticleDOI
Loss of downregulated in adenoma (DRA) impairs mucosal HCO3(-) secretion in murine ileocolonic inflammation.
Fang Xiao,M Juric,Junhua Li,Junhua Li,Brigitte Riederer,Sunil Yeruva,Anurag Kumar Singh,Lifei Zheng,Lifei Zheng,Silke Glage,George Kollias,Pradeep K. Dudeja,De An Tian,Gang Xu,Jinxia Zhu,Oliver Bachmann,Ursula Seidler +16 more
TL;DR: Even mild ileocolonic inflammation may result in a decrease of epithelial HCOSymbol secretion, which may contribute to alterations in surface pH, intestinal flora, and mucus barrier properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ agonist pioglitazone prevents NF-κB activation in cisplatin nephrotoxicity through the reduction of p65 acetylation via the AMPK-SIRT1/p300 pathway
Jiong Zhang,Ying Zhang,Fang Xiao,Yanyan Liu,Jin Wang,Hongyu Gao,Song Rong,Ying Yao,Junhua Li,Gang Xu +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the PPAR-γ agonist pioglitazone prevents NF-κB activation in cisplatin nephrotoxicity through a reduction in p65 acetylation via the AMPK-SIRT1/p300 pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Incidence, Risk Factors, and Prognosis of Acute Kidney Injury in Adult Patients with Coronavirus Disease 2019.
Yichun Cheng,Ran Luo,Xu Wang,Kun Wang,Nanhui Zhang,Meng Zhang,Zhixiang Wang,Lei Dong,Junhua Li,Rui Zeng,Ying Yao,Shuwang Ge,Gang Xu +12 more
TL;DR: AKI is uncommon but carries high in-hospital mortality in patients with COVID-19, and AKI was associated with in- hospital mortality even after adjustment for confounders.
