Impacts and adaptation options of climate change on ecosystem services in Finland: a model based study
Martin Forsius,Saku Anttila,Lauri Arvola,Irina Bergström,Hannele Hakola,Hannu I. Heikkinen,Juha Helenius,Marko Hyvärinen,Kirsti Jylhä,Juha Karjalainen,Tapio Keskinen,Tapio Keskinen,Kari Laine,Eero Nikinmaa,Pirjo Peltonen-Sainio,Katri Rankinen,Marko Reinikainen,Heikki Setälä,Jussi Vuorenmaa +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the main result of a large Finnish project studying the vulnerability of key ecosystem services to climate change and the possibilities for the individual sectors to adapt to these changes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recovery from acidification of Finnish lakes: regional patterns and relations to emission reduction policy.
TL;DR: Deposition model calculations showed that further large reductions in S deposition beyond the 1999 level are not likely to occur by the year 2010, particularly for southeastern Finland, and a slower acidification recovery of the lake ecosystems is anticipated in the future.
Journal ArticleDOI
Finnish lake survey, 1995: regional characteristics of lake chemistry
TL;DR: In this article, Finnish lake survey, 1995: regional characteristics of lake chemistry, and SIL Proceedings, 1922-2010: Vol. 27, No. 1, pp. 362-367.
Book ChapterDOI
Finnish Lake Survey: The Role of Catchment Attributes in Determining Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Organic Carbon Concentrations
TL;DR: In this paper, a Finnish lake survey conducted in 1995, a dataset of 874 statistically selected lakes from the national lake register was divided into subgroups to evaluate lake water-catchment relationships in different geographical regions and in lakes of different size.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term sulphate and inorganic nitrogen mass balance budgets in European ICP Integrated Monitoring catchments (1990–2012)
Jussi Vuorenmaa,Algirdas Augustaitis,Burkhard Beudert,Nicholas Clarke,Heleen A. de Wit,Thomas Dirnböck,Jane Frey,Martin Forsius,Iveta Indriksone,Sirpa Kleemola,Johannes Kobler,Pavel Krám,Antti-Jussi Lindroos,Lars Lundin,Tuija Ruoho-Airola,Liisa Ukonmaanaho,Milan Váňa +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors calculated site-specific annual input-output budgets for sulphate (SO 4 ) and total inorganic nitrogen (TIN NO 3 -N+NH 4 -N) for 17 European ICP IM sites in 1990-2012.
