Indirect oxidation effect in electrochemical oxidation treatment of landfill leachate

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of operating parameters including anode material, current density, and chloride concentration on both chlorine/hypochlorite production and landfill leachate treatment efficiency were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characteristics of carbohydrate degradation and the rate-limiting step in anaerobic digestion.

TL;DR: The rate of the hydrolysis of cellulose was so low that this was shown to be the rate‐limiting step in overall anaerobic digestion and elucidated the true rate‐ Limiting step of an aerobic digestion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrochemical oxidation pretreatment of refractory organic pollutants

TL;DR: In this paper, an electrochemical oxidation method was used for industrial wastewater pretreatment to destroy lignin, tannic acid, chlortetracycline, and EDTA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Emissions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from the pyrolysis of scrap tires

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the PAHs generated in a waste-tire pyrolysis process and the removal by a wet scrubber (WSB) and a flare, and the mean removal efficiencies of gaseous, particulate, and combined (gaseous+particulate) total-PAHs were 59.8, 91.2%, and 66.8%, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reuse of heavy metal-containing sludges in cement production

TL;DR: In this paper, the feasibility of the replacement of raw material for cement production by heavy metal-containing sludge from surface finishing and electroplating industries was investigated, and the effect of heavy metal content in the cement raw mix on the crystalline formation in cement production was examined by XRD analyses.
