PAH emission from various industrial stacks

TL;DR: In this paper, the emission of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from various industrial stacks (blast furnace, basic oxygen furnace, coke oven, electric arc furnace, heavy oil plant, power plant and cement plant) in southern Taiwan were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Levels of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in breast milk from central Taiwan and their relation to infant birth outcome and maternal menstruation effects

TL;DR: After maternal age, pre-pregnant BMI, and parity were adjusted, increased PBDEs in breast milk was related with decreased birth outcome, particularly for birth weight and length, chest circumference, and Quetelet's index of infants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermogravimetric analysis and kinetics of co-pyrolysis of raw/torrefied wood and coal blends

TL;DR: In this article, a thermogravimetric analyzer was used to examine the co-pyrolysis characteristics of fuel blends and five different biomass blending ratios (BBRs) of 100, 75, 50, 25, and 0.1% were taken into consideration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessing and predicting the exposures of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and their carcinogenic potencies from vehicle engine exhausts to highway toll station workers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the exposure levels of both polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and their corresponding carcinogenic potencies for highway toll station workers associated with vehicle emissions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal pretreatment of wood (Lauan) block by torrefaction and its influence on the properties of the biomass

TL;DR: In this article, the torrefaction behavior of woody biomass (Lauan) blocks and its influence on the properties of the wood were investigated, and it was found that over 50% of reacted wood was converted into condensed liquid.
