Dabigatran Versus Warfarin Effects on Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Strokes and Bleeding in Asians and Non-Asians With Atrial Fibrillation
Masatsugu Hori,Stuart J. Connolly,Jun Zhu,Lisheng Liu,Chu-Pak Lau,Prem Pais,Denis Xavier,Sung Soon Kim,Razali Omar,Antonio L. Dans,Ru San Tan,Jyh Hong Chen,Supachai Tanomsup,Mitsunori Watanabe,Masahide Koyanagi,Michael D. Ezekowitz,Paul A. Reilly,Lars Wallentin,Salim Yusuf +18 more
TL;DR: Hemorrhagic stroke rates were higher on warfarin in Asians versus non-Asians, despite similar blood pressure, younger age, and lower international normalized ratio values.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence for Statin Pleiotropy in Humans Differential Effects of Statins and Ezetimibe on Rho-Associated Coiled-Coil Containing Protein Kinase Activity, Endothelial Function, and Inflammation
TL;DR: It is indicated that high-dose statin monotherapy exerts greater effects on ROCK activity and endothelial function, but not on C-reactive protein, than low- dose statin plus ezetimibe, which provides additional evidence of statin benefits beyond cholesterol lowering.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of oxidative stress on endothelial function after a high-fat meal.
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of post-prandial lipaemia on endothelial dysfunction and oxidative stress were investigated in 16 healthy subjects (mean age, 30 +/- 5 years) without major coronary risk factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of supplement with Lactobacillus- and Bifidobacterium-containing yogurt on triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication.
TL;DR: Whether supplements of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium‐containing yogurt (AB‐Yogurt) affect the success of Helicobacter pylori eradication is tested.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Long-Term Multicenter Observational Study of Dabigatran Treatment in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation (RELY-ABLE) Study

Wang,Christine Duffy,Ellison Themeles,Salim Yusuf +51 more
TL;DR: There was a higher rate of major bleeding with dabigatran 150 mg twice daily in comparison with 110 mg, and similar rates of stroke and death during 2.3 years of continued treatment with dabIGatran after RE-LY.
