Modeling the time variability of sdss stripe 82 quasars as a damped random walk
Chelsea L. MacLeod,Željko Ivezić,Christopher S. Kochanek,S. Kozłowski,Brandon C. Kelly,E. Bullock,Amy Kimball,Branimir Sesar,David Westman,David Westman,K. Brooks,Robert R. Gibson,Andrew C. Becker,W. H. de Vries +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors model the time variability of ~9000 spectroscopically confirmed quasars in SDSS Stripe 82 as a damped random walk (DRW) and find that τ increases with increasing wavelength with a power-law index of 0.21 ± 0.07.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quasar Selection Based on Photometric Variability
Chelsea L. MacLeod,K. Brooks,Željko Ivezić,Christopher S. Kochanek,R. R. Gibson,Aaron M. Meisner,S. Kozłowski,S. Kozłowski,Branimir Sesar,A. C. Becker,W. H. de Vries +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for separating quasars from other variable point sources using Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Stripe 82 light-curve data for ~ 10,000 variable objects was developed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for separating quasars from other variable point sources using SDSS Stripe 82 light curve data for ~10,000 variable objects was developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cataclysmic variables from the sloan digital sky survey. viii. the final year (2007–2008)*
Paula Szkody,Scott F. Anderson,K. Brooks,Boris T. Gänsicke,Martin Kronberg,Thomas Riecken,Nicholas P. Ross,Gary D. Schmidt,Donald P. Schneider,Marcel A. Agüeros,Ada Nebot Gomez-Moran,Ada Nebot Gomez-Moran,Gillian R. Knapp,Matthias R. Schreiber,Axel Schwope +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the coordinates, magnitudes, and spectra of 33 CVs from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) I/II were presented, including eight systems known prior to SDSS (CT Ser, DO Leo, HK Leo, IR Com, V849 Her, V405 Peg, PG1230+226, and HS0943+1404) and nine objects recently found through various photometric surveys.
