Journal ArticleDOI
Vapor phase selective hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol over Cu–MgO coprecipitated catalysts
TL;DR: In this article, the catalytic vapor phase hydrogenation of furfural (FAL) to furfuryl alcohol (FOL) at atmospheric pressure, the gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) has been maintained at 0.5.
Journal ArticleDOI
A highly efficient Cu/MgO catalyst for vapour phase hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol
Bhari Mallanna Nagaraja,V. Siva Kumar,V. Shasikala,A.H. Padmasri,Bojja Sreedhar,B. David Raju,K.S. Rama Rao +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a highly efficient Cu/MgO catalyst for the vapour phase hydrogenation of furfural at atmospheric pressure has been prepared by coprecipitation method, which is attributed to the more surface Cu sites as evidenced from N 2 O pulse chemisorption technique and the defective sites at Cu and MgO interfacial region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly efficient Ag/C catalyst prepared by electro-chemical deposition method in controlling microorganisms in water
V. Siva Kumar,Bhari Mallanna Nagaraja,V. Shashikala,A.H. Padmasri,S. Shakuntala Madhavendra,B. David Raju,K.S. Rama Rao +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the anti-bacterial activity of the catalysts were determined qualitatively by testing the presence of coliforms in water after contacting with the catalyst, using a Readycult reagent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrogenation of nitrobenzene over palladium-supported catalysts—Effect of support
Palanivelu Sangeetha,Palanivelu Sangeetha,Kannan Shanthi,K.S. Rama Rao,Balasubramanian Viswanathan,Parasuraman Selvam +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the performance of 1.5% Pd supported on hydrotalcite, MgO and γ-Al2O3 catalysts was investigated for the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene.
Journal ArticleDOI
Physico-chemical characterization and catalysis on SBA-15 supported molybdenum hydrotreating catalysts
G. Murali Dhar,G. Muthu Kumaran,Manoj Kumar,K.S. Rawat,L.D. Sharma,B. David Raju,K.S. Rama Rao +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, SBA-15 supported Mo, CoMo, NiMo, and CoMo-Mo catalysts were prepared and analyzed by surface area analysis and X-ray diffraction in the region where the molybdenum oxide lines are seen.
