Journal ArticleDOI

Water-soluble mercury ion sensing based on the thymine-Hg2+-thymine base pair using retroreflective Janus particle as an optical signaling probe.

TL;DR: An optical sensing platform for mercury ions (Hg2+) in water based on the integration of Hg2+-mediated thymine-thymine (T-T) stabilization, a biotinylated stem-loop DNA probe, and a streptavidin-modified retroreflective Janus particle (SA-RJP) is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer-based lateral flow immunoassay using a raspberry-type europium particle and a single membrane for the detection of cardiac troponin I.

TL;DR: Sensitive detection of cardiac troponin I in serum using the time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer (TR-FRET) technique and the fusion 5 membrane is successfully achieved and the developed LFIA system can be employed in cTnI diagnosis with a simple manufacturing process.
Journal ArticleDOI

An animal cell culture monitoring system using a smartphone-mountable paper-based analytical device

TL;DR: In this article, a paper-based analytical device (PAD) and a smartphone were used to simultaneously analyze glucose and lactate concentrations in the cell culture medium, focusing on the fact that animal cells consume glucose and produce lactate under anaerobic conditions, oxidase-and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) enzyme-mediated colorimetric assays were integrated into the PAD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Salmonella Typhimurium Sensing Strategy Based on the Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification Using Retroreflective Janus Particle as a Nonspectroscopic Signaling Probe.

TL;DR: A novel biosensing platform for molecular diagnosis is developed by integrating the LAMP method and retroreflective Janus particle (RJP) together, indicating that the concentration of the target gene can be quantitatively analyzed by counting the number of observed RJPs.
Journal ArticleDOI

An immunoblot-based optical biosensor for screening of osteoarthritis using a smartphone-embedded illuminometer

TL;DR: A new smartphone-based immunosensing system that integrates an immunoblotting assay and a built-in illumination sensor to assay an osteoarthritis marker that is highly reproducible and sensitive to the variations in the concentration of the analyte is reported.
