Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Punica granatum Linn. (flowers) on blood glucose level in normal and alloxan-induced diabetic rats

TL;DR: Oral administration of its aqueous-ethanolic (50%, v/v) extract led to significant blood glucose lowering effect in normal, glucose-fed hyperglycaemic and alloxan-induced diabetic rats.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatoprotective activity of leaves of Cassia occidentalis against paracetamol and ethyl alcohol intoxication in rats

TL;DR: The hepatoprotective effect of aqueous-ethanolic extract of leaves of kasondi was studied on rat liver damage induced by paracetamol and ethyl alcohol by monitoring serum transaminase, alkaline posphatase, serum cholesterol, serum total lipids and histopathological alterations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and antiinflammatory activity of some new 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazolines bearing benzene sulfonamide.

TL;DR: Nineteen new 2-pyrazoline bearing benzenesulfonamide derivatives were synthesized by condensing chalcones with 4-hydrazinonbenzenes sulfuronamide hydrochloride by means of IR, NMR, mass spectroscopic and elemental analyses data, finding two compounds found to be more active than celecoxib throughout the study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gastroprotective effect of cardamom, Elettaria cardamomum Maton. fruits in rats.

TL;DR: Cardamom, the fruits of Elettaria cardamomum Maton, commonly known as "Heel khurd" is used in Unani system of medicine to treat gastrointestinal disorders and the best gastroprotective effect was found in the PS fraction, which inhibited lesions by nearly 100% at 12.5mg/kg.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and biological evaluation of some new 2-pyrazolines bearing benzene sulfonamide moiety as potential anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agents

TL;DR: Eight novel 2-pyrazolines (2a-h) were synthesized by the reaction of appropriate chalcones/flavanones with 4-hydrazinonbenzenesulfonamide hydrochloride and tested for anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer activities and two compounds showed good anti- inflammatory activity which is comparable to the reference drug celecoxib in carrageenan-induced rat paw edema bioassay.
