TL;DR: Best available evidence about cerebral palsy–specific early intervention that should follow early diagnosis to optimize neuroplasticity and function is summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cerebral palsy--don't delay.
Sarah McIntyre,Sarah McIntyre,Sarah McIntyre,Catherine Morgan,Catherine Morgan,Karen Walker,Karen Walker,Iona Novak,Iona Novak +8 more
TL;DR: The most promising predictive tool for CP is the general movements assessment, which assesses the quality of spontaneous movements of infants in the first 4 months of life, and a shift away from referral for intervention following a formal description of CP is recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gastroschisis: an update
TL;DR: There would appear no clear evidence for either routine early delivery or elective caesarean section for infants with antenatally diagnosed Gastroschisis, but normal or near-normal outcomes may be expected although there remains a need for further studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Airway, feeding and growth in infants with Robin sequence and sleep apnoea.
Matija Daniel,Matija Daniel,S. Bailey,Karen Walker,Karen Walker,R. Hensley,C. Kol-Castro,Nadia Badawi,Alan Cheng,Karen A. Waters,Karen A. Waters +10 more
TL;DR: Weight at 12 months appeared not to be influenced by OSA severity, feeding or airway problems, suggesting that current intervention/management strategy results in the severely affected infants growing as well as those affected less severely.
Journal ArticleDOI
A special supplement: findings from the Australian Cerebral Palsy Register, birth years 1993 to 2006.
Hayley Smithers-Sheedy,Sarah McIntyre,Catherine S. Gibson,Elaine Meehan,Heather Scott,Shona Goldsmith,Linda Watson,Nadia Badawi,Nadia Badawi,Karen Walker,Karen Walker,Iona Novak,Eve Blair +12 more
TL;DR: The strengths and limitations of cerebral palsy registers are outlined, and findings of the Australian Cerebral Palsy Register (ACPR) pertaining to a population cohort of children with CP are reported on.
