Laparoscopic incisional and ventral hernioplasty: lessons learned from 200 patients.
TL;DR: The first 100 patients and the second 100 patients who underwent a laparoscopic repair of incisional and ventral hernias were compared and evaluated and revealed that the second group was approximately 9 years older with more comorbid medical conditions.

Enterotomy and mortality rates of laparoscopic incisional and ventral hernia repair: a review of the literature.
TL;DR: If the hernia repair proceeds as planned following repair of enterotomy, continuation of antibiotics and the placement of an antimicrobial impregnated prosthesis are recommended, but more study is necessary before firm recommendations can be made.
