Journal ArticleDOI
Esophageal temperature change and esophageal thermal lesions after pulmonary vein isolation using the novel endoscopic ablation system.
Andreas Metzner,Boris Schmidt,Alexander Fuernkranz,Erik Wissner,Roland Richard Tilz,Ilka Koester,Melanie Konstantinidou,Andreas Rillig,Yazuhiro Yoshiga,Shibu Mathew,Feifan Ouyang,Karl-Heinz Kuck +11 more
TL;DR: In the Eas group, ETLs were found in 18% of patients, as compared with in 15% in the RFC group, which may indicate that the quality of thermal lesions is more severe in the EAS group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Debris Heterogeneity Across Different Valve Types Captured by a Cerebral Protection System During Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
Tobias Schmidt,Martin B. Leon,Roxana Mehran,Karl-Heinz Kuck,Maria Alu,Ryan Braumann,Susheel Kodali,Samir R. Kapadia,Axel Linke,Raj Makkar,Christoph Naber,Maria Romero,Renu Virmani,Christian Frerker +13 more
TL;DR: Embolic debris, including large particles, is universal across valve types and provides mechanistic support for the potential benefit of using cerebral embolic protection in all TAVR procedures.
Journal ArticleDOI
First-in-Man Transseptal Implantation of a “Surgical-Like” Mitral Valve Annuloplasty Device for Functional Mitral Regurgitation
Francesco Maisano,Giovanni La Canna,Azeem Latib,Paolo Denti,Maurizio Taramasso,Karl-Heinz Kuck,Antonio Colombo,Ottavio Alfieri,Andrea Guidotti,David Messika-Zeitoun,Alec Vahanian +10 more
TL;DR: Percutaneous direct annuloplasty as a stand-alone therapy, as well as in combination with other transcatheter mitral interventions, aims to reproduce surgical annuoplasty.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct Comparison of Point-by-Point and Rapid Ultra-High-Resolution Electroanatomical Mapping in Patients Scheduled for Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation.
Laura Rottner,Andreas Metzner,Feifan Ouyang,Christian Heeger,Kentaro Hayashi,Thomas Fink,Christine Lemes,Shibu Mathew,Tilman Maurer,Bruno Reißmann,Enida Rexha,Johannes Riedl,Ardan M. Saguner,Francesco Santoro,Karl-Heinz Kuck,Christian Sohns +15 more
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to directly compare point‐by‐point versus rapid ultra‐high‐resolution EAM in patients scheduled for ablation of atrial fibrillation with focus on procedural data, acute success, and midterm clinical outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Health related quality of life after extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation in refractory cardiac arrest.
Tobias Spangenberg,J. Schewel,A. Dreher,Felix Meincke,Edda Bahlmann,H. van der Schalk,Felix Kreidel,Christian Frerker,M. Stoeck,Berthold Bein,Karl-Heinz Kuck,Alexander Ghanem +11 more
TL;DR: While HRQoL scores of the survivors ranged markedly below controls, compared to patients on chronic hemodialysis, following ECMO for cardiogenic shock or pulmonary failure most of the discrepancies ameliorated and successfull eCPR in properly selected patients does translate into an encouraging HRZoL approximating chronic renal failure.
