Early Rhythm-Control Therapy in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation
Paulus Kirchhof,A. John Camm,Andreas Goette,Axel Brandes,Lars Eckardt,Arif Elvan,Thomas Fetsch,Isabelle C. van Gelder,Doreen Haase,Laurent M. Haegeli,Frank Hamann,Hein Heidbuchel,Gerhard Hindricks,Josef Kautzner,Karl-Heinz Kuck,Lluís Mont,G. André Ng,Jerzy Rekosz,Norbert Schoen,Ulrich Schotten,Anna Suling,Jens Taggeselle,Sakis Themistoclakis,Eik Vettorazzi,Panos Vardas,Karl Wegscheider,Stephan Willems,Harry J. Crijns,Günter Breithardt +28 more
TL;DR: Early rhythm-control therapy was associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular outcomes than usual care among patients with early atrial fibrillation and cardiovascular conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complete Isolation of Left Atrium Surrounding the Pulmonary Veins New Insights From the Double-Lasso Technique in Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation
Feifan Ouyang,Dietmar Bänsch,Sabine Ernst,Anselm Schaumann,Hitoshi Hachiya,Minglong Chen,Julian Chun,Peter Falk,Afsaneh Khanedani,Matthias Antz,Karl-Heinz Kuck +10 more
TL;DR: Automatic activity and fast tachycardia within the PVs could reflect an arrhythmogenic substrate in patients with PAF, which could be eliminated by isolating all PVs with CCLs guided by 3D mapping and the double-Lasso technique in the majority of patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
EHRA/HRS Expert Consensus on Catheter Ablation of Ventricular Arrhythmias: developed in a partnership with the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), a Registered Branch of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS); in collaboration with the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA).

Journal ArticleDOI
Recovered Pulmonary Vein Conduction as a Dominant Factor for Recurrent Atrial Tachyarrhythmias After Complete Circular Isolation of the Pulmonary Veins Lessons From Double Lasso Technique
Feifan Ouyang,Matthias Antz,Sabine Ernst,Hitoshi Hachiya,Hercules Mavrakis,Florian T. Deger,Anselm Schaumann,Julian Chun,Peter Falk,Detlef Hennig,Xingpeng Liu,Dietmar Bänsch,Karl-Heinz Kuck +12 more
TL;DR: In patients with recurrent ATa after CCLs, recovered PV conduction is a dominant finding in ≈80% of patients and can be successfully eliminated by segmental RF ablation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Catheter ablation of stable ventricular tachycardia before defibrillator implantation in patients with coronary heart disease (VTACH): a multicentre randomised controlled trial
Karl-Heinz Kuck,Anselm Schaumann,Lars Eckardt,Stephan Willems,Rodolfo Ventura,Etienne Delacrétaz,Heinz-Friedrich Pitschner,Josef Kautzner,Burghard Schumacher,Peter Steen Hansen +9 more
TL;DR: Prophylactic VT ablation before defibrillator implantation seemed to prolong time to recurrence of VT in patients with stable VT, previous myocardial infarction, and reduced left-ventricular ejection fraction.
