Journal ArticleDOI

Power recycling in the Garching 30 m prototype interferometer for gravitational-wave detection

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental realization of power recycling in an interferometer with 30 m arm-length and suspended optical components has been achieved, and the power-recycling factor was about 300, corresponding to a light power of more than 100 W impinging on the beam splitter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-port beam splitters-combiners for interferometer applications

TL;DR: It is shown that in the highly undercoupled case almost complete separation of carrier power and phase signal from a cavity strain can be achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frequency stabilization of a monolithic Nd: YAG ring laser by controlling the power of the laser-diode pump source

TL;DR: An error-point frequency noise smaller than 1mHz/ radicalHz is achieved and a reduction of the power noise of the NPRO by 10 dB without an additional power-stabilization feedback system is reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Birefringence-induced losses in interferometers

TL;DR: In this article, the depolarization of the light by inherent or thermally induced birefringence in optical substrates or coatings is determined quantitatively and compared with the losses due to thermal lensing.
