Determining crack kinematics from imaged crack patterns

TL;DR: In this paper , an image-based methodology for computing crack opening in Mode I or Mode II was proposed, which takes a binary image from a semantic segmentation of an image of a crack pattern, which is used to detect the opposite edges along the crack, which are then registered using an optimization algorithm based on the Euclidean transformation model and nonlinear least squares.

Experimental and numerical assessment of the seismic performance of a half-scale stone masonry building aggregate

TL;DR: In this paper, a half-scale model of a natural stone masonry building aggregate, incorporating the main architectural and structural features of existing buildings in Basel's historical center, is presented.

Numerical simulation of instability of thin reinforced concrete walls using beam elements under tension-compression

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the wall thickness, the reinforcement eccentricity, and the loading protocol on out-of-plane deformation was investigated using distributed plasticity and section fibre discretization.
