Multiple-Pulse Control and Bispectral 2D Raman Analysis of Nonlinear Lattice Dynamics
TL;DR: In this article, anharmonic lattice dynamics with a heterodyne bispectral 2D Raman technique was investigated with a 3D lattice model and a 2D-Rambus model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Femtosecond Spectroscopy of Ferroelectric Perovskites: Explanation of Anomalous Polariton Dynamics in Lithium Tantalate
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used time resolved impulsive stimulated Raman scattering (ISRS) to characterize the lowest frequency A 1 phonon-polariton mode in lithium tantalate, and the anomalously high and wavevector-dependent damping rates observed in terms of coupling of the polariton to a weakly Raman-active relaxational mode and to two heavily damped vibrational modes.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Femtosecond Time-Resolved Observations Of Molecular And Crystalline Vibrations And Rearrangements
TL;DR: A femtosecond pulse initiates phase-coherent nuclear motion in nearly any medium through which it passes, through either optical absorption or impulsive stimulated light scattering as discussed by the authors, and these motions can be monitored in real time with additional short pulses.

Polaritonic bandgap materials fabricated and tested with femtosecond laser machining and polariton imaging
TL;DR: In this paper, photonic bandgap materials were fabricated for THz radiation, generated THz waves by impulsive stimulated Raman scattering, and imaged the spatio-temporal evolution of the fields within the structures with polariton imaging.
