Genetic Control by a Metabolite Binding mRNA
Ali Nahvi,Narasimhan Sudarsan,Margaret S. Ebert,Xiang Zou,Kenneth L. Brown,Ronald R. Breaker +5 more
TL;DR: This finding, along with related observations, supports the hypothesis that metabolic monitoring through RNA-metabolite interactions is a widespread mechanism of genetic control.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dipeptide seryl-histidine and related oligopeptides cleave DNA, protein, and a carboxyl ester.
Yunsheng Li,Yufen Zhao,Scott Hatfield,Rong Wan,Qin Zhu,Xionghong Li,Mark C. McMills,Yuan Ma,Jing Li,Kenneth L. Brown,Chen He,Fang Liu,Xiaozhuo Chen +12 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the dipeptide seryl-histidine (Ser-His) and related oligopeptides can themselves cleave DNA, protein, and the ester p-nitrophenyl acetate (p-NPA) over wide ranges of pH and temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics simulations of porphyrins, metalloporphyrins, heme proteins and cobalt corrinoids
TL;DR: In this article, the use of molecular mechanics (force field) and molecular dynamics methods for the modeling of the structure of porphyrins, metalloporphyrin and hemoproteins, and the cobalt corrinoids (derivatives of vitamin B12).
Journal ArticleDOI
Acid-base properties of α-ribazole and the thermodynamics of dimethylbenzimidazole association in alkylcobalamins
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the preparation of l'α-ribazole and caracterisation of 7 alkylcobalamines and determination of leurs pKa a la meme temperature.
