The End of the Reionization Epoch Probed by Lyα Emitters at z = 6.5 in the Subaru Deep Field* **
Nobunari Kashikawa,Kazuhiro Shimasaku,Matthew A. Malkan,Mamoru Doi,Yuichi Matsuda,Masami Ouchi,Yoshiaki Taniguchi,Chun Ly,Tohru Nagao,Masanori Iye,Kentaro Motohara,Takashi Murayama,Kouji Murozono,Kyoji Nariai,Kouji Ohta,Sadanori Okamura,Toshiyuki Sasaki,Yasuhiro Shioya,Masayuki Umemura +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, an extensive search for Lyα emitters (LAEs) at z = 6.5 in the Subaru Deep Field was conducted, which revealed an apparent deficit at the bright end of ∼ 0.75 mag fainter L*, compared with that observed at z=5.7.
Journal ArticleDOI
The End of the Reionization Epoch Probed by Ly-alpha Emitters at z=6.5 in the Subaru Deep Field
Nobunari Kashikawa,K. Shimasaku,Matthew A. Malkan,Masao Doi,Yoichi Matsuda,Masami Ouchi,Yoshiaki Taniguchi,Chun Ly,Tohru Nagao,Masanori Iye,Kentaro Motohara,Takashi Murayama,K. Murozono,Kyoji Nariai,Kunihiro Ohta,S. Okamura,Toshiyuki Sasaki,Y. Shioya,Masayuki Umemura +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an extensive search for Lyman-alpha emitters (LAEs) at z=6.5 in the Subaru Deep Field was conducted, which revealed an apparent deficit at the bright end of ~0.75 mag fainter L*, compared with that observed at z =5.7.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lyα Emitters at z = 5.7 in the Subaru Deep Field
Kazuhiro Shimasaku,Nobunari Kashikawa,Mamoru Doi,Chun Ly,Matthew A. Malkan,Yuichi Matsuda,Masami Ouchi,Tomoki Hayashino,Masanori Iye,Kentaro Motohara,Takashi Murayama,Tohru Nagao,Kouji Ohta,Sadanori Okamura,Toshiyuki Sasaki,Yasuhiro Shioya,Yoshiaki Taniguchi +16 more
TL;DR: Shimasaku et al. as discussed by the authors measured rest-frame Lyα equivalent widths (EWs) for the confirmed LAEs, to find that the median among the 28 objects satisfying the photometric selection criteria is W i0 = 233 ˚ A.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Redshift z=6.56 Galaxy behind the Cluster Abell 370
Esther M. Hu,Esther M. Hu,Lennox L. Cowie,Lennox L. Cowie,Richard G. McMahon,Richard G. McMahon,Peter Capak,Fumihide Iwamuro,Jean-Paul Kneib,Toshinori Maihara,Kentaro Motohara +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the discovery of a redshift z = 6.56 galaxy lying behind the cluster Abell 370, which was found in a narrowband imaging survey using a 118 A bandpass filter centered at 9152 A in the Low-Resolution Imaging Spectrograph (LRIS) camera on the 10 m Keck II telescope.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ly Alpha Emitters at z=5.7 in the Subaru Deep Field
K. Shimasaku,Nobunari Kashikawa,Masao Doi,Chun Ly,M. A. Malkan,Yoichi Matsuda,Masami Ouchi,Tomoki Hayashino,Masanori Iye,Kentaro Motohara,Takashi Murayama,Tohru Nagao,Kouji Ohta,S. Okamura,Toshiyuki Sasaki,Y. Shioya,Yoshiaki Taniguchi +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the properties of Ly Alpha emitters (LAEs) at z = 5.7 in the Subaru Deep Field were obtained with Subaru and Keck II Telescopes, among which 28 were confirmed LAEs, one was a nearby galaxy and eight were unclassified.
