Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNA-133a regulates the mRNAs of two invadopodia-related proteins, FSCN1 and MMP14, in esophageal cancer
Naoki Akanuma,Isamu Hoshino,Yasunori Akutsu,Kentarou Murakami,Yuka Isozaki,Tetsurou Maruyama,Gulbostan Yusup,Wei Qin,Takeshi Toyozumi,Masahiko Takahashi,Hiroshi Suito,Xin Hu,Nobufumi Sekino,Hiromasa Matsubara +13 more
TL;DR: The combined expression of FSCN1 and MMP14 is associated with a poor prognosis, and miR-133a, which regulates their mRNAs, can serve as a strong tumour suppressor of ESCC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of Efficacy of Self-Expandable Metallic Stent Placement in the Unresectable Esophageal Cancer Patients.
Masaya Uesato,Yasunori Akutsu,Kentarou Murakami,Yorihiko Muto,Akiko Kagaya,Akira Nakano,Mizuho Aikawa,Tomohide Tamachi,Takahiro Arasawa,Hiroyuki Amagai,Yasuhide Muto,Hisahiro Matsubara +11 more
TL;DR: The stent with thin and flexible characteristics like the Niti-S ultrathin stent will solve the various problems of esophageal stent placement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disturbed alternative splicing of FIR (PUF60) directed cyclin E overexpression in esophageal cancers.
Yukiko Ogura,Tyuji Hoshino,Nobuko Tanaka,Guzhanuer Ailiken,Sohei Kobayashi,Kouichi Kitamura,Bahityar Rahmutulla,Masayuki Kano,Kentarou Murakami,Yasunori Akutsu,Fumio Nomura,Sakae Itoga,Hisahiro Matsubara,Kazuyuki Matsushita +13 more
TL;DR: Clinically, elevated FIR expression potentially is an indicator of the number of lymph metastases and anti-FIR/ FIRΔexon2 antibodies in sera as cancer diagnosis, indicating chemical inhibitors of FIR/FIRΔ Exon2-FBW7 interaction could be potential candidate drugs for cancer therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lymphoepithelioma-like esophageal carcinoma with macroscopic reduction.
Masaya Uesato,Tuguaki Kono,Tooru Shiratori,Yasunori Akutsu,Isamu Hoshino,Kentarou Murakami,Daisuke Horibe,Tetsurou Maruyama,Yoshihide Semba,Ryuma Urahama,Yukiko Ogura,Takashi Oide,Toru Tanizawa,Hisahiro Matsubara +13 more
TL;DR: The first case of esophageal LELC showing macroscopic reduction is reported, with a 67-year-old male with dysphagia found to have a significantly raised tumor in the thoracic esophagus, which became flattened, similar to a scar, in only 2 mo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endoscopic occlusion with silicone spigots for the closure of refractory esophago-bronchiole fistula after esophagectomy.
Masaya Uesato,Tsuguaki Kono,Yasunori Akutsu,Kentarou Murakami,Akiko Kagaya,Yorihiko Muto,Akira Nakano,Mizuho Aikawa,Tomohide Tamachi,Hiroyuki Amagai,Takahiro Arasawa,Yasuhide Muto,Hisahiro Matsubara +12 more
TL;DR: A 65-year-old man with cT1bN0M0 stage I middle thoracic esophageal cancer underwent subtotal esophagectomy and gastric tube reconstruction through the posterior mediastinal route after preoperative carbon-ion radiotherapy and chemotherapy in a clinical trial and has not developed recurrence of the fistula or cancer for three years.
