Journal ArticleDOI
Exercise behavior in cancer survivors and associated factors
TL;DR: Age, weight, education, comorbidity, disease stage and smoking can identify survivors at risk of physical inactivity after treatment, and recognition variables can be used to identify physically inactive cancer survivors after treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Alberta moving beyond breast cancer (AMBER) cohort study: a prospective study of physical activity and health-related fitness in breast cancer survivors
Kerry S. Courneya,Jeff K. Vallance,S. Nicole Culos-Reed,Margaret L. McNeely,Gordon J. Bell,John R. Mackey,Yutaka Yasui,Yan Yuan,Charles E. Matthews,David C.W. Lau,Diane Cook,Christine M. Friedenreich +11 more
TL;DR: The AMBER Study will examine the role of physical activity and health-related fitness in facilitating treatment completion, alleviating treatment side effects, hastening recovery after treatments, improving long term quality of life, and reducing the risks of disease recurrence, other chronic diseases, and premature death.
Journal ArticleDOI
Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of an Online Intervention to Increase Physical Activity in Nova Scotian Cancer Survivors: A Randomized Controlled Trial
TL;DR: Internet-delivery may be a feasible alternative to more costly methods to promote PA among Nova Scotian cancer survivors and there was a trend toward increased PA among those in the UCAN group, especially among those who were not meeting PA guidelines at baseline.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictors of Adherence to Supervised Exercise in Lymphoma Patients Participating in a Randomized Controlled Trial
Kerry S. Courneya,Clare Stevinson,Margaret L. McNeely,Christopher M. Sellar,Carolyn J. Peddle,Christine M. Friedenreich,Alex Mazurek,Neil Chua,Keith Tankel,Sanraj Basi,Tony Reiman +10 more
TL;DR: Poorer exercise adherence was experienced by lymphoma patients under age 40, insufficiently active at baseline, previously treated with radiation therapy, overweight or obese, and smokers.
Journal ArticleDOI
