Substituent effect on the fluorescence quenching of polystyrene derivatives by polymeric plasticizers
TL;DR: In this paper, the fluorescence quenching of poly (4-methylstyrene), poly poly(4-methoxystyrene) and poly (α-methyl styrene) by dimethyl terephthalate (DTH), diethyl terphthalate, dibutyl phthalate, and dioctyl tetramer was investigated in solvent of different polarities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photodegradation kinetics of poly(para-substituted styrene) in solution
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of UV irradiation on stability of polystyrene, poly(4-methoxystyrene) and poly(α-methylstyrene), poly(β-butylbutyl-poly(β)-butyl) compounds were studied in the presence of oxygen at different intervals of irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of plasticization on the photodegradation of poly (para-methoxystyrene) films
Khalid E. Al Ani,Muna A. Hawi +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of dibutyl phthalate, dioctyl terephthalate, dimethyl tetrameric acid (DTE), dimethyl polyethylene (DPE), diethyl polyethylenetrizedephenylamine (DPE), and di di diutyl polyphthalate-plasticizers on poly(para-methoxy styrene) photodegradation was investigated by UV-vis, fluorescence, and FT-IR spectroscopic methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of the influence of UV-irradiation on the photodegradation of plasticized poly(para-tert-butylstyrene) films
TL;DR: In this paper, the photodegradation of thin poly(para-tert-butylstyrene) with 265 nm radiation in the presence of oxygen, and as a function of irradiation time, has been studied using fluorescence, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, and ultraviolet visible spectrograms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Solvent effect on thermal degradation of plasticized para-substituted polystyrenes
TL;DR: In this article, the thermal effect on stability of a series of para-substituted polystyrenes with methyl, methoxy and α-methyl substituents in various solvents was studied in the temperature range of 298-363 K.
