Hydronium-Promoted Equilibrium Mechanism for the Alkali Metal Cation Exchange Reaction in Na-4-Mica
TL;DR: In this article, a model of hydronium-promoted equilibrium for the cation exchange reaction of highly charged swelling 2:1 phyllosilicates with alkali metal cations was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Suppression of NH3 and N2O emissions by massive urea intercalation in montmorillonite
Kwang Seop Kim,Man Park,Choong Lyeal Choi,Dong-Hoon Lee,Young-Jin Seo,Chan Yong Kim,Jong Su Kim,Seok In Yun,Hee Myong Ro,Sridhar Komarneni +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a massive intercalation of urea into montmorillonite (MMT) was proposed to improve the urea use efficiency in soil surface for reliable crop production.
Journal ArticleDOI
Massive Intercalation of Urea in Montmorillonite
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorbate-dependent uptake behavior of topographically bi-functionalized ordered mesoporous silica materials
Kwang Seop Kim,Man Park,Tae Woo Kim,Jang-Eok Kim,Dimitrios Papoulis,Sridhar Komarneni,Jyung Choi +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a bifunctionalized ordered mesoporous silica (SBA-11) was topographically functionalized with two different functional groups by step-wise functionalization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Post-isomorphic substitution of trivalent metal cations for Ca2+ in portlandite crystals
TL;DR: In this paper, isomorphic substitution of trivalent metal cations for Ca2+ ions in portlandite crystals at room temperature has been studied and shown to lead to a transient appearance of metastable phase, the formation of Ca-based layered double hydroxides at high pH, the distinct shift of suspension pH after phase transition, and in situ topochemical reaction.
