Journal ArticleDOI
Creating high-harmonic beams with controlled orbital angular momentum.
Genevieve Gariepy,Jonathan Leach,Jonathan Leach,Kyung Taec Kim,Kyung Taec Kim,T. J. Hammond,E. Frumker,E. Frumker,Robert W. Boyd,Robert W. Boyd,Paul B. Corkum +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that orbital angular momentum is conserved during high-harmonic generation of a beam with an angular-dependant phase Φ = lϕ about the beam axis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Petahertz optical oscilloscope
Kyung Taec Kim,Chunmei Zhang,Andrew D. Shiner,Bruno E. Schmidt,François Légaré,David M. Villeneuve,Paul B. Corkum +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the instantaneous field of an unknown pulse is imprinted onto the deflection of the attosecond extreme ultraviolet pulse using an all-optical set-up with a bandwidth up to 1 PHz.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photonic streaking of attosecond pulse trains
Kyung Taec Kim,Chunmei Zhang,Thierry Ruchon,Jean-François Hergott,Thierry Auguste,David M. Villeneuve,Paul B. Corkum,Fabien Quéré +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an all-optical photonic streaking measurement is demonstrated that provides direct experimental access to individual attosecond pulses, and the effects of non-adiabatic electron dynamics and plasma formation on the generated attoscond pulse train are directly observed when the pulse train is applied to harmonic generation in gases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single sub − 50 − attosecond pulse generation from chirp-compensated harmonic radiation using material dispersion
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for obtaining a single sub-50-attosecond pulse using harmonic radiation is proposed, where the chirped structure of the harmonic radiation imposes a limit on the minimum achievable pulse duration, but its positive chirp can be compensated by the negative group delay dispersion of an appropriately selected x-ray filter material, used also for the spectral selection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Manipulation of quantum paths for space–time characterization of attosecond pulses
Kyung Taec Kim,Chunmei Zhang,Andrew D. Shiner,S. E. Kirkwood,E. Frumker,Genevieve Gariepy,Andrei Yu. Naumov,David M. Villeneuve,Paul B. Corkum +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an all-optical method to measure the space-time characteristics of an isolated attosecond pulse, without temporal and spatial averaging, is demonstrated, which may possibly be used to finely control the pulse characteristics.
