Journal ArticleDOI

Tailored semiconductors for high-harmonic optoelectronics

TL;DR: Nanofabricated structured targets of ZnO are used and varied the chemical composition of the sample to demonstrate that (modest) high harmonics can be generated as the light interacts with the target materials, and present the possibility of developing solid-state ultrafast optical devices.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrashort pulse non-linear optical absorption in transparent media.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that non-linear absorption limits the intensity that can be reached and that the energy is deposited prior to the focus, and model the energy distribution, and predict and measure the energy transmitted through the focus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Manipulation of quantum paths for space–time characterization of attosecond pulses

TL;DR: In this paper, an all-optical method to measure the space-time characteristics of an isolated attosecond pulse, without temporal and spatial averaging, is demonstrated, which may possibly be used to finely control the pulse characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probing Polar Molecules with High Harmonic Spectroscopy

TL;DR: The methodology of orienting polar molecules is brought together with the phase sensitivity of high harmonic spectroscopy to experimentally compare the phase difference of attosecond bursts of radiation emitted upon electron recollision from different ends of a polar molecule.
