The Extreme Physics Explorer and large area micro-channel plate optics
Michael R. Garcia,Martin Elvis,Jon H. Chappell,Laura Brenneman,Daniel J. Patnaude,Ian N. Evans,Ricardo J. Bruni,Suzanne Romaine,Eric H. Silver,Richard Willingale,George W. Fraser,T. J. Turner,Brian D. Ramsey +12 more
TL;DR: The Extreme Physics Explorer (EPE) is a concept timing/spectroscopy mission that would use micro-channel plate optics (MCPO) to provide 4m 2 effective area focused to ~1 arc-min onto an X-ray calorimeter as mentioned in this paper.
The close environments of supermassive black holes
Michal Dovciak,Giorgio Matt,Stefano Bianchi,Thomas Boller,Laura Brenneman,Michal Bursa,Antonino D'Ai,Tiziana Di Salvo,Barbara De Marco,R. Goosmann,Vladimir Karas,K. Iwasawa,Erin Kara,Jon M. Miller,G. Miniutti,I. E. Papadakis,Pierre-Olivier Petrucci,Gabriele Ponti,Delphine Porquet,Christopher S. Reynolds,Guido Risaliti,Agata Różańska,Luca Zampieri,Andreas Zezas,Andrew J. Young +24 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Constraints on the absorption-dominated model for the X-ray spectrum of MCG-6-30-15
Christopher S. Reynolds,Andrew C. Fabian,Laura Brenneman,Giovanni Miniutti,Phil Uttley,Luigi C. Gallo +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the absorption-dominated model over-predicts the 6.4keV iron line flux unless the marginally Compton-thick absorber responsible for the hard X-ray hump satisfies very restrictive geometric constraints.

STROBE-X: X-ray Timing & Spectroscopy on Dynamical Timescales from Microseconds to Years
Colleen A. Wilson-Hodge,Paul S. Ray,T. J. Maccarone,Deepto Chakrabarty,Keith C. Gendreau,Zaven Arzoumanian,P. A. Jenke,David R. Ballantyne,Enrico Bozzo,Søren Brandt,Laura Brenneman,Marc Christophersen,A. DeRosa,Marco Feroci,Adam Goldstein,Dieter H. Hartmann,M. Hernanz,Michael McDonald,Bernard F. Phlips,Ron Remillard,Abigail L. Stevens,John A. Tomsick,Anna L. Watts,Kent S. Wood,Silvia Zane +24 more
TL;DR: The Spectroscopic Time-Resolving Observatory for Broadband Energy X-rays (STROBE-X) as discussed by the authors provides an unprecedented view of the X-ray sky, performing timing and 0.2-30 keV spectroscopy over timescales from microseconds to years.
Book ChapterDOI
Applying the Reflection Model
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the models used to fit AGN spectra in order to extract spin information, as well as the complexities involved in applying these models and in AGN spectral fitting in general.
