CARD 2017: expansion and model-centric curation of the comprehensive antibiotic resistance database
Baofeng Jia,Amogelang R. Raphenya,Brian Alcock,Nicholas Waglechner,Peiyao Guo,Kara K. Tsang,Briony A. Lago,Biren M. Dave,Sheldon K. Pereira,Arjun N. Sharma,Sachin Doshi,Mélanie Courtot,Raymond Lo,Laura E. Williams,Jonathan G. Frye,Tariq Elsayegh,Daim Sardar,Erin L. Westman,Andrew C. Pawlowski,Timothy A. Johnson,Fiona S. L. Brinkman,Gerard D. Wright,Andrew G. McArthur +22 more
TL;DR: The Comprehensive Antibiotic Resistance Database (CARD) is a manually curated resource containing high quality reference data on the molecular basis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), with an emphasis on the genes, proteins and mutations involved in AMR.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Metropolitan Atlanta Congenital Defects Program: 35 years of birth defects surveillance at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Adolfo Correa-Villaseñor,Janet D. Cragan,James E. Kucik,Leslie A. O'Leary,Csaba Siffel,Laura E. Williams +5 more
TL;DR: This paper presents an overview of MACDP current methods and accomplishments over the past 35 years, and serves as a resource for the development of uniform methods and approaches to birth defect surveillance across the United States and in many other countries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic Association Studies of Cleft Lip and/or Palate With Hypodontia Outside the Cleft Region
Rebecca L. Slayton,Laura E. Williams,Jeffrey C. Murray,James J. Wheeler,Andrew C. Lidral,Carla Nishimura +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a study was conducted to determine whether the candidate genes previously studied in subjects with cleft lip, cleft palate, or both are associated with hypodontia outside the region of the cleft.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug resistance genes and trailing growth in Candida albicans isolates
TL;DR: Trailing isolates, although susceptible to fluconazole, express the same molecular mechanisms as SDD and R isolates following fluconAZole exposure but regulate them differently, and all isolates were capable of CDR1 and MDR1 up-regulation following flu Conazole exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antimicrobial Resistance Genes, Cassettes, and Plasmids Present in Salmonella enterica Associated With United States Food Animals.
Elizabeth A. McMillan,Sushim K. Gupta,Laura E. Williams,Thomas Jové,Lari M. Hiott,Tiffanie A. Woodley,John B. Barrett,Charlene R. Jackson,Jamie L. Wasilenko,Mustafa Simmons,Glenn E. Tillman,Michael McClelland,Jonathan G. Frye +12 more
TL;DR: It was revealed that a diverse group of plasmids, carrying AR genes, are responsible for the phenotypic resistance seen in Salmonella isolated from United States food animals, and it was also determined that many plasids carry similar ARCs.
