Fluorescence and Light-Scattering Studies of the Aggregation of Cationic Surfactants in Aqueous Solution: Effects of Headgroup Structure

TL;DR: Aggregation of the following cationic surfactants has been studied in aqueous solution: cetyltrimethylammonium chloride, CMe3ACl, cetyldimethylphenylammoniam chloride, cMe2PhACl; cetyldeimethylbenzylammonial chloride,CMe2BzACl. as discussed by the authors The structure of micelles of CMe2PCA is different fro...
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of the complexation of fisetin with cyclodextrins

TL;DR: In this article, the interaction between fisetin (3,3,4,7-tetrahydroxyflavone) and cyclodextrins (CDs) (alpha and beta) was studied through UV-vis absorption, steady-state fluorescence, induced circular dichroism, and (1)H NMR experiments with dependence on temperature and pH.
Journal ArticleDOI

A proton NMR study on aggregation of cationic surfactants in water: effects of the structure of the headgroup

TL;DR: In this article, the 1H NMR chemical shifts of solutions of the following cationic surfactants in D2O were determined as a function of their concentrations: cetyltrimethylammonium chloride, CTAC1, a 1:1 molar mixture of CTAC 1 and toluene, cETylpyridinium chloride (CPyCl), CPyCl, cetyldimethylphenylammmonium (PHM) chloride, CDPhACl, CDBzACl and CDPhE
Journal ArticleDOI

Complexation Dynamics of Xanthone and Thioxanthone to β-Cyclodextrin Derivatives

TL;DR: In this paper, the complexation dynamics of xanthone to substituted β-cyclodextrins and of thioxanthone for β-CDs was studied by directly following the relocation of the excited triplet state ketones from the...
Journal ArticleDOI

Growth of Cetyltrimethylammonium Chloride and Acetate Micelles with Counterion Concentration.

TL;DR: Time resolved fluorescence quenching measurements with pyrene as probe are employed to determine aggregation numbers for hexadecyltrimethylammonium acetate (CTAOAc) and chloride micelles as a function of the concentration of detergent and added common-counterion salt.
