Combined endobronchial and esophageal endosonography for the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer: European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Guideline, in cooperation with the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS)
Peter Vilmann,Paul Frost Clementsen,Sara Colella,Mette Siemsen,Paul De Leyn,Jean-Marc Dumonceau,Felix J.F. Herth,Alberto Larghi,Enrique Vazquez-Sequeiros,Cesare Hassan,Laurence Crombag,Daniël A. Korevaar,Lars Konge,Jouke T. Annema +13 more
TL;DR: This is an official guideline of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, produced in cooperation with the European Respiratory Society, and addresses the benefit and burden associated with combined endobronchial and esophageal mediastinal nodal staging of lung cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined endobronchial and oesophageal endosonography for the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer. European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Guideline, in cooperation with the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS).
Peter Vilmann,Paul Frost Clementsen,Sara Colella,Mette Siemsen,Paul De Leyn,Jean-Marc Dumonceau,Felix J.F. Herth,Alberto Larghi,Enrique Vazquez-Sequeiros,Cesare Hassan,Laurence Crombag,Daniël A. Korevaar,Lars Konge,Jouke T. Annema +13 more
TL;DR: New guidelines for combined endobronchial and oesophageal mediastinal nodal staging of lung cancer are published in The Lancet Oncology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Added value of combined endobronchial and oesophageal endosonography for mediastinal nodal staging in lung cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Daniël A. Korevaar,Laurence Crombag,Jérémie F. Cohen,Jérémie F. Cohen,René Spijker,René Spijker,Patrick M.M. Bossuyt,Jouke T. Annema +7 more
TL;DR: The combined use of EBUS and EUS significantly improves sensitivity in detecting mediastinal nodal metastases, reducing the need for surgical staging procedures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Systematic and combined endosonographic staging of lung cancer (SCORE study)
Laurence Crombag,Christophe Dooms,Jos A. Stigt,Kurt G. Tournoy,Olga C.J. Schuurbiers,Maarten K. Ninaber,Wieneke A. Buikhuisen,Sayed M S Hashemi,Peter I. Bonta,Daniël A. Korevaar,Jouke T. Annema +10 more
TL;DR: In lung cancer patients, a systematic endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) evaluation combined with an oesophageal investigation using the same EBUS bronchoscope (EUS-B) increases the sensitivity for mediastinal nodal staging by 9% compared to a targeted EBUS procedure.
Journal ArticleDOI
EUS-B-FNA vs conventional EUS-FNA for left adrenal gland analysis in lung cancer patients.
Laurence Crombag,Artur Szlubowski,Jos A. Stigt,Olga C.J. Schuurbiers,Daniël A. Korevaar,Peter I. Bonta,Jouke T. Annema +6 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the success rate of endoscopic ultrasound guided fine-needle aspiration using the EBUS scope (EUS-B-FNA) for LAG analysis shows a similar high success rate in comparison to conventional EUS, likely to reduce patient-burden and costs.
