Long term disease-free survival in acute leukemia patients recovering with increased γδ T cells after partially mismatched related donor bone marrow transplantation
Kamar Godder,Kamar Godder,P. J. Henslee-Downey,Jayesh Mehta,B. S. Park,Kuang-Yueh Chiang,Kuang-Yueh Chiang,S. Abhyankar,Lawrence S. Lamb,Lawrence S. Lamb +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an eight-year follow-up to our previous study showed a survival advantage to patients with an increased γδ T cells following allogeneic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) in many but not all patients with acute leukemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation and expansion of cytomegalovirus-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes to clinical scale from a single blood draw using dendritic cells and HLA-tetramers.

TL;DR: A system for generating sufficient CMV-specific CTLs for adoptive immunotherapy of HLA-A*0201 bone marrow transplant recipients from 200 mL donor blood is described and it is suggested that the C TLs could cross endothelial barriers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improving the safety of cell therapy products by suicide gene transfer
TL;DR: This review presents the suicide gene safety systems reported to date, with a focus on the state-of-the-art and potential applications regarding two of the most extensively validated suicide genes, including the clinical setting: herpes-simplex-thymidine-kinase and inducible-caspase-9.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid Communication: Increased Frequency of TCRγδ+ T Cells in Disease-Free Survivors Following T Cell-Depleted, Partially Mismatched, Related Donor Bone Marrow Transplantation for Leukemia
Lawrence S. Lamb,P. Jean Henslee-Downey,Rudolph S. Parrish,Kamar Godder,John F. Thompson,Carlos Lee,Adrian P. Gee +6 more
TL;DR: This work reports on a group of γδ+ T cells that have an important role in allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) and their role in immune responses remains undefined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bone marrow transplantation from partially HLA-mismatched family donors for acute leukemia : Single-center experience of 201 patients
Jayesh Mehta,Seema Singhal,Adrian P. Gee,K. Y. Chiang,K. Godder,F. van Rhee,S. DeRienzo,W. O'Neal,Lawrence S. Lamb,Henslee-Downey Pj +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that PMRD BMT is a potential treatment option for patients with high-risk acute leukemia who require an alternative donor transplant and fall into a group with a reasonable expected outcome.
