Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of N-benzoyl-d-phenylalanine and metformin on carbohydrate metabolic enzymes in neonatal streptozotocin diabetic rats
TL;DR: The administration of NBDP along with metformin to nSTZ diabetic rats normalizes blood glucose and causes marked improvement of altered carbohydrate metabolic enzymes during diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of tetrahydrocurcumin on plasma antioxidants in streptozotocin-nicotinamide experimental diabetes.
TL;DR: The results of the study indicate that in addition to its antidiabetic effect in type 2 diabetic rats, THC has an antioxidant effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Myrtenal ameliorates hyperglycemia by enhancing GLUT2 through Akt in the skeletal muscle and liver of diabetic rats.
TL;DR: The findings suggest that myrtenal could be a potent phytochemical in the management of diabetes and down-regulation of glucose transporters enhances the glucose uptake in liver and skeletal muscle.
Journal ArticleDOI
Histopathological findings of the pancreas, liver, and carbohydrate metabolizing enzymes in STZ-induced diabetic rats improved by administration of myrtenal
TL;DR: The results suggest that myrtenal possess antihyperglycemic and β cell protective effects and could be considered as a potent phytochemical for development as a new antidiabetic agent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Coccinia indica leaf extract on plasma antioxidants in streptozotocin- induced experimental diabetes in rats.
TL;DR: Oral administration of Coccinia indica leaf extract (CLEt) for 45 days resulted in a significant reduction in plasma thiobarbituric acid reactive substances, hydroperoxides, vitamin E and ceruloplasmin, which clearly shows the antioxidant property of CLEt.
