Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-oxidant effects of resveratrol on mice with DSS-induced ulcerative colitis.
Jun Yao,Jian-Yao Wang,Lei Liu,Ying-Xue Li,An-Ying Xun,Wei-Sen Zeng,Chun-Hong Jia,Xiao-Xia Wei,Ju-Ling Feng,Li Zhao,Li-Sheng Wang +10 more
TL;DR: Oral administration of Res exerts marked inhibitory effects on UC in mice, suggesting that resveratrol may play an important role in preventing DSS-induced oxidative damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metformin stimulates osteoprotegerin and reduces RANKL expression in osteoblasts and ovariectomized rats.
Qi-Guang Mai,Zhongmin Zhang,Song Xu,Ming Lu,Rong-Ping Zhou,Li Zhao,Chunhong Jia,Zhi-hua Wen,Dadi Jin,Xiaochun Bai +9 more
TL;DR: In vivo and in vitro studies suggest that metformin reduces RANKL and stimulates OPG expression in osteoblasts, further inhibits osteoclast differentiation and prevents bone loss in OVX rats.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multi-mechanisms are involved in reactive oxygen species regulation of mTORC1 signaling.
TL;DR: PP2A and AMPK-mediated phosphorylation of Raptor mediate H(2)O(2)-induced inhibition of mTORC1 signaling, demonstrating that low doses ROS exposure stimulate m TORC1 while high concentrations or long-term ROS treatment decrease mTORc1 activity in vivo and in a variety of cell lines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrogen peroxide induces G2 cell cycle arrest and inhibits cell proliferation in osteoblasts.
TL;DR: H2O2 prevents cell proliferation of osteoblasts by down‐regulating cyclin B1 and inducing G2 cell cycle arrest and inhibition of mTOR signaling by H2 O2 may not be involved in this process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of mTOR signaling by oleanolic acid contributes to its anti-tumor activity in osteosarcoma cells.
Rong-Ping Zhou,Zhongmin Zhang,Li Zhao,Chunhong Jia,Song Xu,Qi-Guang Mai,Ming Lu,Mingjun Huang,Liang Wang,Xiaokai Wang,Dadi Jin,Xiaochun Bai +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that OA is a promising agent for treatment of osteosarcoma and mTOR signaling may contribute to its anti‐tumor effects on osteosARcoma cells.
