Journal ArticleDOI
Reactive oxygen species stimulates receptor activator of NF-kappaB ligand expression in osteoblast.
Xiaochun Bai,Di Lu,Anling Liu,Zhong-ming Zhang,Xiu-mei Li,Zhipeng Zou,Wei-Sen Zeng,Bao-luan Cheng,Shen-qiu Luo +8 more
TL;DR: Increased intracellular ROS levels by H2O2 or xanthine/xanthine oxidase-generated superoxide anion stimulated RANKL mRNA and protein expression in human osteoblast-like MG63 cell line and primary mouse bone marrow stromal cells and calvarial osteoblasts and via ERKs and HSF2 in human MG63 cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrogen peroxide induces G2 cell cycle arrest and inhibits cell proliferation in osteoblasts.
TL;DR: H2O2 prevents cell proliferation of osteoblasts by down‐regulating cyclin B1 and inducing G2 cell cycle arrest and inhibition of mTOR signaling by H2 O2 may not be involved in this process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metformin induces G1 cell cycle arrest and inhibits cell proliferation in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells.
TL;DR: It is reported for the first time that 1–50 mM of metformin in a dose‐ and time‐dependent manner suppressed cell proliferation and colony formation in NPC cell line, C666‐1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phospholipase C-γI Is Required for Survival in Heat Stress: Involvement of Protein Kinase C-Depertment Bel-2 Phosphorylation
TL;DR: Results suggest that PLC-gamma1 activation enhances cell survival through the PKC-dependent phosphorylation of Bcl-2 during the cellular response to heat stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrogen peroxide in the Burkitt's lymphoma cell line Raji provides protection against arsenic trioxide-induced apoptosis via the phosphoinositide-3 kinase signalling pathway
Di Lu,Xiao-chun Bai,Li Gui,Yong-chun Su,Fan Deng,Bin Liu,Xiu-mei Li,Wei-Sen Zeng,Bao-luan Cheng,Shen-qiu Luo +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated for the first time that low concentrations of H2O2 provide protection against the in vivo of As2O3‐induced apoptosis, inhibiting As2N2‐induced cancer cell apoptosis in the Burkitt's lymphoma cells.
